Chief of the Department of Agricultural and Chemical Markets
Mr. Oleg Tymkiv is the Chief of the Department of Agricultural and Chemical Markets which is one of the principal departments of the National Research and Information Center for Monitoring International Commodity Markets "DERZHZOVNISHINFORM" in Ukraine ("DZI").
The National Research and Information Center for Monitoring of International Commodity Markets (DERZHZOVNISHINFORM) was established in 1996 by and under the former Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of Ukraine (now Ministry of Economy of Ukraine) according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine (¹124/96, 10 February 1996). Main areas of the Center's activity include commodity markets monitoring, advisory and expert services to enterprises, institutions, and organizations involved in foreign economic relations, preparation of analytical materials and expert reports for Ministry of Economy of Ukraine needs and other interested state entities and private companies, persons. In performing of the abovementioned missions DERZHZOVNISHINFORM actively communicates with ministries, the State Customs Service of Ukraine and other state agencies involved in foreign trade pricing policy formation, etc. DERZHZOVNISHINFORM offers advisory service and organizes conferences in Ukraine and is authorized to provide expert evaluations for the Monetary and Credit Council and National Bank of Ukraine. DERZHZOVNISHINFORM's experts with special background in analytical work conduct constant monitoring in the following main markets: agricultural and food products; chemical products, mineral fertilizers and plastics; steel-making industry, mining and dressing industry, coal and processing industry, oil and products, light industry articles. Main areas of monitoring find their correspondence in special departments of the Center. Database of regular clients of DZI consists of more than 2,000 companies, including foreign enterprises. DZI processes over 6,000 enquiries annually.
The main tasks of the Department of Agricultural and Chemical markets are:
- expertise of the contracts on foreign trade by commodities of agriculture, food processing industry and chemical industry;
- price information service (Ukrainian and world markets) on commodities of agricultural and chemical industry such as grains, oilseeds, sugar, fertilizers, different agricultural equipment, etc.;
- preparation of marketing studies on different agricultural commodities (grains, oilseeds, sugar, food products, etc.) and products of chemical industry.
The overall target of Department's activity is information support of decision-making for businessmen, state authorities and other bodies involved in foreign trade of ukrainian agricultural commodities, food products, products of Ukrainian chemical industry.
At the same time Mr. Tymkiv currently serves as the director of the project AGRO PERSPECTIVA, which is directed to develop information infrastructure in Ukrainian agricultural industry, is represented by the following publications:

Mr. Tymkiv, an Ukrainian citizen, graduated from the National Agrarian University (Kiev, Ukraine) with diploma on agronomy in 1995 and graduated from the National Economy University (Kiev, Ukraine) with diploma of international jurist and magister's degree. He lived and worked in Kiev in the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of Ukraine prior the appointment on the present position in DZI in 1996.
